Production Information
The video clips were filmed on a hand-held Canon PowerShot A70 digital camera. Clips were filmed with an audio track in the camera’s native AVI format. The clips were then downloaded to a PowerMac G4 computer running Mac OS X, and imported directly into iMovie 4.0.1. The original audio track was removed, and an audio track from a compact disc was imported into iMovie. This audio track was used as the basis for arranging and synchronizing the video clips. iMovie bookmarks were used to aid in synchronizing the video and music in the best possible fashion. The final video was exported by iMovie into QuickTime format, and then shared on the web.
Roughly the first half of the movie was filmed while driving on Interstate 93 South into the city of Boston, Massachusetts. The driving route led from the “lower deck” just north of the city, over the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge, and into the new Liberty Tunnel. The route then exited the tunnel via the South Station off-ramp. The route came above ground and turned left onto Summer Street, passing South Station, the new Boston Convention and Exposition Center, and the Boston Edison power plant in South Boston.
The second half of the movie was filmed while leaving South Boston. The route starts in South Boston near the BCEC, entering an on-ramp to Interstate 93 North. This particular ramp runs parallel to the Ted Williams Tunnel, and then splits off to join with the main I-93 North tunnel. The route then proceeds over the Zakim Bridge, and exits left onto the Tobin Bridge off-ramp. The route follows the off-ramp around and into the City Square tunnel, where the film ends.
