interesting happenings

a. recently I launched “project mail-a-thon” based on ***michelle’s|http://mikao.blogspot.com/2003_09_01_mikao_archive.html#106460371587482857*** original concept. I only had one taker. the very likable ***Jennifair|http://junefourteenth.blogspot.com***. I sent southward a cute little lipgloss on a cord that had strawberry shortcake on the label and smelled nice! I received on Saturday a very cute teeny piggy banke that had my name on it and holds one lucky penny. What fun mail!

b. TNT has reached the end of the ER reruns that it has and Today has swung back to the first season. This allows me to recognize more familiar faces… This morning there was a police officer who came in after having shot himself in the leg. The officer was non other than FRANK the (somewhat) loveable admit desk clerk. Weird.

c. wishing for myself a little more spending money this holiday season… and having yet to obtain full time employment, I have gone and found myself a part time job. Yes, that’s right, your hostess is Barnes and Noble’s latest Barista. hmmm. interesting, no?

How do you spell Rejection?

B-e-v-e-r-l-y H-i-s-t-o-r-i-c-a-l S-o-c-i-e-t-y!

That’s right folks. Over a month since I interviewed with them I have received a letter that proclaims, “You are not among those selected for further consideration at this time.” Also that they, “received many inquiries from capable individuals such as [me].” Well, that makes it better!

But, incase you were feeling that the esteemed Beverly Historical Society was completely heartless, I leave you with one final quote, “Truely, I wish that this letter were bringing you more favorable news, as I can imagine your disappointment. Please do take comfort in the fact that your application and interview was given long and careful consideration before the selection was made.” Oh good.

Culture and Family

On Friday, by a very lucky Halloween coincidence, Peter and I scored nice tickets to “West Side Story” at the North Shore Music Theater. The show was fantastic. Our seats were nice and close to the stage. And it was fun to dress up and go out!

We rented the movie “Whale Rider” on Saturday night. I thought it was a great flick. It was deep and sad and uplifting all at the same time. Thanks to ***Jackie|http://jway.blogspot.com*** for the recommendation.

Sunday was spent with many family members in Worcester at Angela and Jack’s wedding reception. Congratulations you two!

project mail-a-thon

If any of you have surfed on over to the blogs listed to the right you may have seen the ***website of Michelle.|http://mikao.blogspot.com*** A few weeks ago she started “Project Mail-a-Thon” which I gleefully took part in. The details are as follows:

qqq| *The ***original instructions|http://mikao.blogspot.com/2003_09_01_mikao_archive.html#106460371587482857*** from Michelle’s site*

i have decided to start a live internet/real life project. i call this project mail-a-thon quite simply because i cannot think of a better name for it, and i think it’ll stick. it’s catchy, huh?

this is a project that, on a global scale, could bring much happiness to many mailboxes. while “real mail” is more expensive that e-mail, it is, for the most part, infinitely cooler. and, seriously, a stamp doesn’t cost that much.

so, to participate, this is what you need to do:

1. leave a comment saying something to the effect that “wow, this sounds neato. i want to participate!”

2. email me your snail mail address, to rebecca at prwdot dot org. this is an essential part of the plan, don’t forget it.

3. i will mail you something cool within one week of recieving your address. this cool thing will be a surprise. the object of the mail-a-thon is to send happiness. yes, happiness. how cool. you will also, at this time (within one week), also mail me some happiness. i would like that. i like mail. i like happiness

4. when you recieve your happiness in the mail, you must post an entry on your blog that reports your happiness, has a link-back to http://prwdot.org, and post these instructions. {If you do not have a blog comment back on this site to let me know what you think!}

5. you will mail happiness to others who request that you do so via your blog.

but, you may still be left with one question… how exactly do i mail someone happiness? well dears, that is going to have to be something you figure out. i am guessing it will be distinctive to each person.|qqq

So, I sent off a little letter to Miss Michelle and was quite happy to have received a postcard from her this week. It is a handmade postcard with flowers and my name in pretty letters across the front. It definately made me smile…which was the whole purpose of the game!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE just email me your snail mail address and I’ll give you mine and we’ll start the ball rolling!

self dialing

i have a friend. she lives in Florida. yup. she hasn’t called me in a looooooong time. but today, for the third time, her phone called me. i was treated to a serenade of what sounded like the “Macarena” presumably from her car radio. then i hung up. the marvels of modern technology!

the Mutiny of #17

Today is a sad sad day in Rhistory. For the first time in 24 years one of my beloved body parts has decided to jump ship. Mutiny, if you will. Luckily he could not convince any of the others to join him.

Peter’s entry {see below} tells the truth. I had tooth #17 {Lower left wisdom tooth} extracted today. He was causing me much pain and the oral surgen told me that wisdom teeth aren’t even used for chewing! What?! Pull that sucker out then!

I am just afraid that other parts of me may become dissatisfied with their current habitat. Will others choose to leave as well. Perhaps my spleen? or my pancreas? or my big toe? Let’s hope not.

vintage er… again

just another update for you er fanatics. today’s vintage er episode was “a piece of mind”. The one where Dr. Mark Greene has his brain tumor surgery… The paralell plot involves a father/son who get in a car accident because of driving under the influence of alcohol (suv vs. garbage truck) remember? the son of that pair was played by none other than cutie ***Jared Padalecki|http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0655585/*** Some may recognize him as Dean from Gilmore Girls. Very interesting…

a plethora of topics

lets see. Yesterday Peter hit the big 25. What a geezer!

I had a dream last night that I was one of those cute tween girls with a pony tail reading ‘teen people’. I was out with some friends at the mall or something…and my cell phone rang. On the other end of the phone was cutie Rupert Grint (aka Ron Weasly)… and he was my boyfriend. He was very sweet and cute on the phone. And then I woke up. alas!

I had a job interview today. I think it went really well, but I didn’t get to meet the others interviewing for the position. I just hope that I’m a better fit for the job. I don’t want to get my hopes up too much. Either way I’m sure that I was meant to have this interview…to either 1. get the job or 2. to get practice interviewing. let’s hope it’s numero uno! If you are trying to find a job, a good way to pass the urine test is to use fake pee and if you want to pass in 24 hours, for more information visit urinedrugtesthq.

phew!

er

I am never right about these things…But, amazingly, I was right about last nights ‘er’. Last summer when the rumers were flying about a cast member not returning this season we (jenn peter and I) were able to narrow it down to two possibilities John Carter (Noah Wiley) and Luka Kovach (Goran Visnjc). I remember a conversation when I said, “They’re going to make us think that Luka won’t leave the Congo…he’ll want to stay there and make a difference instead of coming home to Chicago…BUT I think it is going to be Carter. He doesn’t want Gamma’s money and he’s sick of the ER, I bet he goes back to the Congo and stays or gets killed or something.”

Can you believe that I was right!?!

In other er news… I have been watching alot of the older reruns on TNT daytime. It’s fun to watch all the old shows and to see how the writers weave stories in and out over time. I am also constantly surprised at how many guest actors that are on… ones that I never would have recognized years ago, but now have gone on to have careers of their own now. The two most recent (and the only ones I can think of at the moment) are Shia LeBeuf…he played a kid with Muscular dystrophy…who has recently been seen in the movie Holes and on the Disney show “Even Stevens” … and Liza Weil… Samantha Sobricki (yeah, the psycho’s wife) is also Paris Gellman from Gilmore Girls! It’s just been fun 🙂
