but he had an accent!

and an M.D. but he was no Luka Kovatch. I spent another evening at the Beverly Hospital Emergency Room. While cooking what would have been a very delicious supper I made a nice clean cut in my left middle finger. It wasn’t deep but the blood was definately making a run for it.

Peter took me to the hospital and without too much delay I was admitted to the fast-track. My er doc was of middle eastern decent and had a nice accent. He “glued” my wound up (with something called Dermabond) and left to get some paperwork for me. While he was out my body decided that it was no longer in “emergency” mode and that it would be okay to pass out. So i fainted. The nice nurse put a cold, wet cloth on my head and offered to wheel me out to the car. Fortunately I got better pretty quickly and was able to walk out on my own power. Alls well that ends well, don’cha know?

i promised

to tell when i got word from a prospective employer… The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Ma wins the award for the first recipient of my resume to officially reject me. Actually, they “considered [my] application very carefully but…decided to offer the position to a candidate whose skills more closely meet the job requirements.”

C’est la vie. There are other jobs out there. Better jobs.

Updates

Howdy. I’d like to tell you all that my poison ivy is healing nicely. It still itches like crazy, but it isn’t blistery and oozy like it was before. (Aren’t you glad I told you that?)

The job hunt is going as well as can be expected. I have some resumes out and I am continually looking for more options, but I still haven’t heard from anyone yet. But trust me. I’ll let you know if I do!

Being extreemly astute readers I’m sure you have noticed the new ORANGE link on the right. That is our new little survivor fan site. Whether or not you can come over to watch with us you should check out the site 🙂

late at night while you’re sleeping…

poison ivy comes a’creepin around. If anyone else knows that song leave me a message!

But seriously, I am being attacked by a bout of Poison ivy. It is in and around the crease behind my right knee. Yep. it’s that bad. Luckily I have the luxury of sitting at home all day with my leg up taking care if it!

lazy?

Now that I don’t have to get up and go to work everyday I have had a much easier time getting myself to the gym. I go to the gym to compensate for my sedentary, computer loving, job-searching life. Why then, if I am looking for an active, energizing workout at the gym, do I actively seek out the closest parking space to the door? Why does the thought of walking across the parking lot make me cringe?

Short Timer

Tomorrow is my very last day at Strawbery Banke. It has been a great summer and I’ve had a really good experience there. Because I’ve really gotten to like my co-workers there I am sad to go. But the future holds exciting things, too. Like Job Hunting!

Speaking of which…I’m on the prowl for a Educational Program development job in a Boston area museum. Any leads for me? Been to any Boston area museums that you’d like to recommend?

june the fourteenth

I was lucky enough to get to spend a large part of the weekend with miss jennifer. We left early Friday morning for the Island and packed the day full of ferry rides, lunch with an ocean view, sunning at Town Beach, swimming in the salty sea, yummy dinner and FIREWORKS! what fun.

And Saturday I ushered Jennifer into the world of blogging. She’s catching on quickly. Check out her infant blog ***in its new home|http://junefourteenth.blogspot.com***. We’ve also added her to our link list. Happy surfing!
