Tidying up the bathroom, Esme style.

I mentioned to Esme that I have always loved the dress she was wearing. She gave me a quizzical look and so I brought out our collection of Christmas photos. We found three pics of the girls in the same dress. It is a green and black plaid dress with a black velvet sash from the Children’s Place.

(l) 2008- Catherine at 2.5– I can’t remember where we got this little dress. It was either a hand-me-down or one I found second hand somewhere.

(m) 2011- Catherine at 5.5, Esme at 2.5– Here Esme is wearing the small dress and Catherine has on an identical, but bigger dress that I found that year at Savers.

(r) 2017-Catherine at 11.5, Esme at 8.5– Esme has finally grown in to the larger dress, the smaller one having been passed along to a friend a number of years ago.

I’ll be sad to see the end of these lovely dresses, but I’m glad to have gotten so much use out of them!

After a footwear malfunction this summer that led to me giving my Keens to Catherine, I’ve been saving up for a new pair for myself. I ordered them to arrive in December so that I have time to wear them in before our visit to Mickey in January.

She loves putting her own outfits together. I would have added a little color, but that’s not how she rolls sometimes! On other related news, checkout this all girls catholic school bowie md.

Tonight a dad sitting on the bleachers near me turned around, took a glance and said, “working on the new team uniforms?” Ha! I quipped back something about how the pinnies were looking a bit worn. Nothing like some good knitting humor!

There’s still 52 days before we leave, but my phone is ready for the happiest place on Earth!

The girls participated in lighting the first advent candle with us this morning at church. They read beautifully and the verse is always a comfort to me, both in the dark days of winter and in the dark days of life.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness–on them light has shined.

I couldn’t help but stop and look at this little icy oasis on my morning walk. Amazing what a dripping faucet and a cold snap will do!
