Monday Mom, Dad, Kirsten, Mark, Peter and Becky took a little field trip to Shaker Town at Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg. It was a nice little walk through history.

We saw a little movie, did some shopping, watched a sheep being shorn, heard some beautiful Shaker music, and generally had a good ole time.

Later that day on our way to the airport 🙁 we stopped for lunch at a local favorite watering hole, Ramsays. Pics are Here

We spent much of Sunday on the Asbury Campus for Kirsten’s Graduation It was a beautiful sunny day and the graduation ceremony was very nice and not too long 🙂

Part deaux:

Much of the weekend was filled up with parties and get togethers.

Saturday afternoon the Carter family and Mom and Dad Wood came down from Mount Vernon and we had a big swimming, cookout and hot tub party.

Sunday was spent celebrating. At lunch we had lasagna and gave Kirsten her graduation gifts. And we celebrated Mother’s day 🙂 After dinner some of Kirsten’s closest friends from Asbury and their families came over for cake.

The first in a series of entries about our recent trip to the grand old commonwealth of Kentucky. Peter has put all of our pictures from the weekend up in the gallery And he divided the pics into different albums. I’ll make entries that correspond with the albums.

“Around Caanan Land” (Caanan Land Farm Bed and Breakfast in Harrodsburg, Kentucky where Kirsten and Mark Carter (our sister(-in-law) and brother-in-law) are the innkeepers. The farm was just perfect. Quaint, earthy, well kept, comfortable and there was a swimming pool! The family all stayed in the main house and we spent much time with the animals and in the pool and hot tub. The owners of the farm have sold it to new owners and K and M will be moving out in just a few days. We were lucky enough to be able to visit before they had to leave.

This past Saturday was CBD’s warehouse sale. I was there working in Restock, but not for as long as usual! We got to come in a bit late, which was nice. After work, Becky and I had dinner at Panera and then bought a cheapo movie at Best Buy – “Say Anything” with John Cusack. It was actually pretty good!

Sunday after church, Becky and I drove out to Shrewsbury for the First Holy Communion of Nicholas Quitadamo (or, as we all know him, Cole). We had a good time there with the Q’s, and I took a bunch of great pictures of the kids at play. My definition of “kids” is broad, and includes Uncle Kevin, who has been known to appear in some interesting photos in the past. 🙂

Coming up this weekend – Kirsten’s graduation from Asbury College! Becky and I will be flying down to Lexington, Kentucky in our first trip to the Bluegrass state. We will be staying at the Canaan Land Farm Bed & Breakfast in Harrodsburg. Kirsten and Mark are currently the innkeepers there, but will be leaving shortly after graduation. Should be exciting. 🙂

1. Snow Pudding. YUM!
2.Volleyball and bonfire at the Carter’s. “I got it…no wait! You’ve got it!”
3. 10 Pin Bowling. Last minute and perfectly wonderful! My finger and wrist muscles are still sore!
4. Der Dutchman. Great view, no Amish.

As Becky posted earlier, this weekend we were up in Maine for Aunt Emmeline’s 80th birthday party! We had a great time up there visiting with the extended Lowe family. The party was great, and we also got to do some shopping at the various outlets (Kittery and Freeport).

I finally remembered to put in the two latest additions to the Wood-Lowe online genealogy, and you can see them here.

I was tempted to make this entry twice…thereby making it a ‘twin update’, but I restrained myself 🙂

I found out complete names and I thought I’d pass them on… Thomas Winthrop Lowe Jr. and Christopher Reyes Lowe. nice.

Well, the Lowe family has some exciting news this evening. My aunt Gabi gave birth this evening to two healthy baby boys. Now my Grandpa has five grandchildren… four boys and one girl (that’s me!).

The new additions are named Thomas Winthrop Lowe Jr. and Christopher ?? Lowe. I can’t wait to meet them. The babies and momma are doing just fine.
