Ruffles

I haven’t knit very many things for Catherine. Partially because I’m a busy momma-on the go; partially because she has very generous people in her life and has been well provided for.

I had some nice warm wool yarn left over from other projects and a great pattern (from my Great-Aunt Emeline) so I buckled down and started a little sweater. It was a quick knit and was done “in the round” so I didn’t have to sew any seams. Fantastic!

The ruffles were my idea…next time around I’ll remember to make the torso and arms longer to account for the way the ruffles lie. For now she’ll have to deal with the sweater being a little bit too short!

I would actually like the pattern too…so cute. I love knitting in the round, and even most baby hats that I’ve done lately call for knitting straight & sewing up seams. Ick.

Super super precious. Valentines baby! Dang, you have a cute kid. I kinda wanna eat her. You know what I mean…it’s mommy cannibalism. Gobble the cheeks…. 🙂

Too cute! You’re such a non-felon Martha Stewart. Although the thought of a 3/4 sleeve wool sweater makes me itchy all over! Wool–ICK!

I wish I knew how to knit in the round. I SO want to make sweaters and mittens. I just can’t follow patterns well. I can make scarves, slippers, blankets and hats and little purses and that’s about it.

Thanks everyone for the sweet compliments! My feathers have been fluffed!

J&BJ-I’ll try to get you a copy of the pattern.

Melanie- The yarn is actually a Wool/Acrylic blend. It is pretty soft.

Krista- Knitting in the round is the best thing I’ve discovered to date. I’m sure there’s a good tutorial online that could get you started!
