The girls participated in lighting the first advent candle with us this morning at church. They read beautifully and the verse is always a comfort to me, both in the dark days of winter and in the dark days of life.
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness–on them light has shined.
I couldn’t help but stop and look at this little icy oasis on my morning walk. Amazing what a dripping faucet and a cold snap will do!

Such weather for November! It was just warm enough to have the top down for the six minute drive between the Disney fundraiser and the dance studio. These two thought it was fantastic!
I’m super proud of this kid for having an open mind and trying something completely brand new to her. She enjoyed her first night of Rec Winter League basketball, basket or no.

It’s hard to see, but Santa arrived in Salem at the top of the Hawthorne Hotel and deftly descended the firetruck ladder, mugging for the crowd all the way down. A great tradition and a fun way to ring in December!
